The camera is a natural part of my design practice. It offers a way to record the world as it appears, and also to reduce the world to its constituent parts through collage and assemblage. I enjoy finding the perfect color in nature, which is documented via photograph, and later brought into design. I also love the use of underexposure, which emphasizes the structural aspects of the built environment, its angles and shapes. Tight crops of textures taken in nature later become material that can be arranged in design.
